Respect In Sport for Parents

Respect In Sport training for Parents - SYSI highly recommends ALL parents complete this training. The cost is $12 and takes 1 hour to complete at your own pace.

One of the most common reasons coaches, managers, officials and athletes, of all ages, cite for leaving sport is unacceptable parent behaviour. The Respect in Sport Parent Program will help define a standard of behaviour for all parents and create a more rewarding, safe and respectful environment for everyone involved. Parents want to do a great job supporting their kids. Respect in Sport provides parents with the tools to create and maintain Safe Sport environments. With over 1.5 Million people Respect Certified, we are the Safe Sport Canada Solution!

Bystander Empowerment

After completing the Bystander Empowerment eLearning module, you will be able to: Recognize different forms of violence; Identify helpful and hurtful bystander behaviour; Use strategies to intervene as a bystander in situations of violence. This eLearning will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes

Long Term Player Development

Long Term Player Development (LPTD) or Wellness to World Cup - Soccer specific adaptation of the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD). The LPTD is a program for soccer player development, training, competition and recovery based on biological age (i.e physical maturity) rather than chronological age (age of the individual). It is player centred, coach driven and administration, sport science, and sponsor supported. In other words, the LPTD is providing the player with the best experience in soccer by putting the needs of the player first.

Under-11 - No Standings

Removal of U11 Standings - SYSI has made the decision to align ourselves with both Canda Soccer & Saskatchewan Soccer and remove standings from all U11 divisions. We are not the first, and are following a wider trend happening across Canada, including Soccer Nova Scotia, Ontario Soccer Association, and leagues in Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia. We have included links below pertaining to the removal of standings at U12 and younger across Canada.
