Meet the Pros:

Thomas Hasal

Hasal is a Canadian professional goalkeeper currently playing for Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) in Major League Soccer. Prior to joining LAFC, he played several seasons with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, where he developed through the Whitecaps Residency Program.

A proud product of Saskatchewan, Hasal began his youth career with Aurora Soccer Club and the Saskatchewan Whitecaps Academy before moving into the Whitecaps residency system. In early 2019, he earned his first MLS contract with Vancouver’s First Team.

Hasal made an immediate impact on the professional stage during the 2020 MLS is Back Tournament, recording a 239-minute shutout streak, including clean sheets against Chicago Fire FC and Sporting Kansas City. His breakout performances earned him nominations for:

  • MLS Golden Glove Finalist

  • Best XI Finalist

  • Save of the Tournament Finalist

Since then, Hasal has continued to grow as one of Canada’s top young goalkeepers. He has earned multiple call-ups to the Canadian Men’s National Team, including the pre-World Cup preparation camp in Bahrain.

Across his career to date, Hasal has now surpassed 45+ professional appearances between LAFC and Vancouver Whitecaps.

In the 2025 season, Hasal continued his progression with LAFC providing depth, leadership, and high-performance standards within one of MLS’s top environments while representing Saskatchewan proudly at the professional level.

Brett Levis

Levis is one of Saskatchewan’s most successful and inspiring professional soccer players born, raised, and developed entirely within the province. Beginning his career in Saskatoon before joining the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in 2011, Levis quickly became a standout at the U SPORTS level. He helped the Huskies qualify for two national championships and win the 2014 CanWest Conference title, both firsts in program history.

During his university career, Levis scored an impressive 29 goals in 50 matches, earning attention from Major League Soccer. He signed with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, where he went on to make 24 MLS appearances, representing Saskatchewan at the highest level of North American soccer.

Levis continued his professional journey in the Canadian Premier League with Valour FC, where he became a key player and leader from 2020-2022, earning recognition in the CPL Team of the Year.

His next chapter took him to the United States, playing in the USL Championship with FC Tulsa and Detroit City FC, further establishing himself as a reliable, versatile, and intelligent professional.

In the 2025 CPL season, Levis achieved one of the biggest milestones of his career—winning the Canadian Premier League Championship with Atlético Ottawa, cementing his legacy as one of Saskatchewan’s most accomplished professional footballers.
